Hey everyone! I know it's been a looooong while since I updated my site but I'm back! I have an incredibly busy, tough year, My life changed drastically but I have learned so much and I would not change that aspect. I love to experience new things. I love to learn and grow. I mean, that's life, right? You can either be negative or positive and I'm choosing to be positive. :) I am incredibly grateful for all that I have.
At the beginning of the year I obtained a full time position with the Transport Team at Driscoll Children's Hospital forcing me to leave personal training, however I'm still going strong as a fitness instructor and with my workouts. I still have several workouts and tips to share with you all so I intend to do that soon! While I don't have much time to record fitness videos anymore, there are a few clips I still need to put together. Other than that, I will be listing the workouts. Most exercises should be easy to understand. If not, I'm always here to help if you need to reach out to me! -April

Well here I am, living life after my competition. It's been 4 days since the competition and I've been home all day... right where I want to be. My little girl is sick, so I have good reason to be home, but to be perfectly honest, I really don't want to be at work or at the gym which is the same place! I'm so tired of working out. I pushed soooooo hard, that I just want a little BREAK! I slept most of the morning and it felt amazing and I'm a true homebody, so I love being home and having time to think, write, research, and just be alone. But I know I need to get back to my life ASAP.

Well, I am officially one week out from my second NPC Competition. I'm eager and ready to get through this week. This is where I am going to give my all and every bit of energy and strength that I have left!
I have been worried out of my mind this past week and it has affected me and my workouts greatly. I had not idea how I was going to pay for this competition. I truly love my job as a personal trainer and fitness instructor because I feel like it was what I was meant to do, but between the excessive cancellations and lack of clientele during this time of year, it has been rough. Still, I can't bring myself to change careers. I would rather receive a smaller income to help people than work behind a desk and not be able to reach anyone. It would absolutely break my heart! With that said, I have had to resort to a GoFundMe campaign. I did not want to bring myself to do it, but it was a last resort and I really have worked so hard these past 6 months to not be able to compete. Welcome to my site! Just wanted to fill you in on what to expect from me.
My site will include blogs, as well as fitness videos. I specialize in HITT/Circuit training so I will be leaning toward this type of training in my videos mostly so you have a workout to take with you on-the-go, or do at home. I also plan to share weight room tips, especially for women because I tend to see a lack of women in the weight room. As a personal trainer, I LIVE at the gym and have observed women either a) only take group ex classes, use the treadmill or elliptical trainer and do not venture into the weight room because they are intimidated, or b) do go into the weight room and only work their lower body and abs, or c) walk in to the weight room without a plan and use whatever equipment is available, which is never a good idea! Now I'm not saying that all women do this because there are many women who DO know what they are doing. I'm here to help those that are just beginning their fitness journey, or just need a fresh new take on things. I remember how intimidated and lost I felt when I first started working out so I want to help you feel as comfortable as possible and help you avoid making the mistakes I made. At the moment, I'm preparing for my second bodybuilding competition so I will also share my workouts and diet during my journey. Please be open with me and give me feedback as I am willing to help in any way I can. I truly have a passion for this industry and absolutely love what I do. Also, if you have tips, I'm always open to learning from others too! The beauty of learning is that it never stops. We can always learn more and always become better. -April |
